Hanna-Kaarina Heikkilä is a multi-disciplinary designer who has skills, knowledge and experience from architectural projects to smallest details in product design. Heikkilä has worked and studied abroad in Japan, Denmark and Sweden. Currently she operates in Helsinki, Finland leading Studio Finna that she has established together with her business partner Anni Pitkäjärvi. Heikkilä is lecturing at the design department in Aalto University.
Curiosity keeps this energetic designer all the time developing and exploring new projects. “Excellence is to understand the needs and desires of the clients and customers to come up with solutions that will remain relevant in a long run. For me design is not only solving things in a set way, but rather opening up new opportunities, daring and caring to look at beyond. I just do not want to make functional projects, but loveable products and spaces that people want to embrace for a very long time.”
